Cadillac Mountain is the first location on the east coast to see the sunrise. Those are the Porcupine Islands down in the Frenchman Bay.

Amazing photos…..and this sunset…..wow !!! just fantastic….!!! Actually, after watching your photos of this incredible area, I checked the region on wikipedia as the geology of this Frenchman Bay and Cadillac Mountain puzzled me with these extraordinary rock and island formations…..and read that they were due to retreating glaciers thousands of years ago….Such an unusual and magical landscape !!!! Very interesting !!! I also learned that Frenchman Bay was logically discovered by a French adventurer….something that intrigued me when I first saw your wonderful photo of the ship in the bay at night, for some unknown reason…..and strangely, the “pirate” and explorer in me found it strange and a bit of a coincidence that this Antoine Laumet de La Mothe came from Picardie where half of my family comes from in France….!!!! Anyway, extraordinary how photos can induce you to do some research about countries, areas and specific places….the miracle of Facebook !!! So, thanks again for your magnificent photography…… Can’t get enough of it…going through your blog is a mind blowing experience !!!!! Excellent !!!
