09/10/10 Ferris Wheel

While photographing the Ferris Wheel in Seaside Heights, NJ, the operator came up to me with some interesting information about the ride.  Apparently, this Ferris Wheel was built in 1920. It was relocated from the parking lot of a restaurant that sold chicken. If you bought a chicken dinner, you received a free ride on the Ferris Wheel.  It was originally called the “Chicken Wheel”.
