07/14/14 Loons of Acadia

Posted: September 9, 2014 in Uncategorized

After seven years, I finally took a decent photo of a loon. Early in the morning as Sharon and I dropped the kayaks in the water at Jordan Pond, we could hear the beautiful and haunting calls of a loon. We paddled to the end of the pond and this loon was very cooperative. He seemed as curious about us as we were about him. He stayed on the surface and did not dive for about an hour. A second loon showed up and stayed for a short time. It was an awesome morning.
