The alewives fish run was in full swing in June. That brings the bald eagles and ospreys to town. I spent many hours at this little pond and the adjacent inlet. Some days there was non stop action and other days it was quiet. I have so many images that I want to share, I’m breaking the post into two parts. Watching bald eagles and ospreys fish is quite amazing, two completely different styles. The bald eagle kind of glides down and grabs the fish from above. 1. Magnificent, Ray! We are honored that you send us your nature miracles. Suffocating heat alternating with violent storms and deluge rains that create WAVES on Cold Soil Road, near Mercer Meadows, as though I’m driving in a rising tide ! — keep me from enough nature experiences this year. So yours are more essential than ever. So grateful Now you’ve become the king, not only of snowy owls, but also of osprey If you haven’t read Return of the Osprey (set on Cape Cod) you will treasure that book! Best always c
